In Stephens County, voters are deciding on three Toccoa City Commission seats.

Incumbent Terry Carter is running unopposed for the Post 1 seat.

For the Post 2 seat, incumbent David Austin has chosen not to run for re-election. That seat is being sought by Billy Chism and Ron Matheson.

For the Post 4 seat, incumbent Gail Fry is facing challenger Lenwood Cannon.

There is also a special election to fill the unexpired seat of Toccoa City Commissioner Jeannette Jamieson, who passed away in April.

In that race, her daughter Michelle Jamieson is running against Gary Cortellino.

In Martin, Harold Alexander is running unopposed for mayor, and incumbent City Councilman Mark Gearhart, along with candidates Michael O’Barr and Keith Merrit, are running for two available seats on the city council.

Early voting for the Toccoa and Martin races is taking place at the Historic Stephens County Courthouse from 8a to 5p Monday through Friday and 9a to 5p on the two Saturday voting days.
