Emmanuel College Bass Fishing Team Sports Two New Sponsors

The Emmanuel Bass Fishing team has two new sponsors.

This week, School officials announced Earl’s Electrical Service of Royston and Interstate Batteries of Northeast GA have signed on as 4-year sponsors of the program.

EC Bass Fishing Head Coach, Pam Martin-Wells believes this partnership is a great opportunity, especially as the team enters its inaugural season.

“As far as I’m concerned, this is phenomenal for our program,” said Coach Wells. “Not only is it instrumental in helping our team achieve their goals but also give us the confidence of knowing we have companies that have enough faith in their abilities to perform and promote that they offering to commit to 4 years. For a first year team, that’s huge!”

Ricky Smith, owner of Earl’s Electrical Service, said he is sponsoring the Emmanuel College Bass team because it’s the kind of sport that one can do throughout their lives.

“This is a sport that the kids can carry on throughout their lives and pass down to their kids and grandkids and further their futures in the sport, so I thought it was a great opportunity.” said Smith.

Interstate Batteries distributor Clay Wiggins was quick to agree to a 4-year sponsorship.

“We’re really excited about it, and I think it’s going to be a great partnership for us,” Wiggins said.

Last fall, the College announced the formation of the Bass Fishing Team beginning this semester.

Currently there are around 600 College bass fishing teams in the United States, the majority of them being club teams.

Emmanuel is one of the select few programs in the country offering athletic scholarships to students interested in competitive fishing while continuing their education.

As with other teams on campus, Emmanuel seeks for the College Bass Fishing team to be a highly competitive program.

The team members in the program will compete in top nationally recognized tournaments, such as the FLW Outdoors College Series, Carhartt Bassmaster College Bass Fishing Series, and others.
