Lavonia Woman Victim of Hit and Run in Stephens County

The Georgia State Patrol is looking for the vehicle involved in a hit and run that left a Lavonia woman injured.

It happened last Wednesday on Bruce Road off Brookhaven Circle.

According to the Toccoa post of the Georgia State Patrol, the woman was sitting on the edge of Bruce Road in Stephens County Wednesday night when she was hit by a passing car.

Troopers say 23-year-old Dalena L. Baker of Lavonia was on the eastbound lane of Bruce Road sitting facing east, wearing a black shirt and blue jean shorts.

A witness tells the GSP that a vehicle was traveling eastbound, struck Baker and kept going.  That witness describes the vehicle as a dark colored vehicle with round tail lights.

Troopers say there was no debris or any type of marks on the roadway indicating a collision.  Baker was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where her condition is not known.

The GSP says the incident remains under investigation.
