Mobile Job Coach in Lavonia Today

Just a reminder, the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission’s mobile job coach will be in Lavonia today to help job seekers get a leg up on their career search.

The coach will be at the Lavonia Carnegie Library today and will be in Royston next week.

Assistants with the GMRC offer job seekers the chance to search online for jobs, get help with preparing a resume, and other services.

In addition to resume help and help with job applications and online job searches, assistants with the mobile job coach also offer help with tuition assistance on continuing education options.

Workforce Development Trainer Micah Thomas reminds people there is a regular schedule that job seekers can access online so they know when the coach will be in their town or community.

“For the Lavonia area, we are here on the first Tuesday of the month,” he said. “In Royston, we’ve started a schedule as well. We have a regular rotating schedule with at least eight counties.”

The job coach covers all 13 counties in the GMRC region.

Thomas said since the mobile unit has been coming to our area, interest in taking advantage of what it has to offer job seekers continues to grow.

Thomas said it’s easy to find out when the coach will be in your area.  You can call the office number at 770-538-2727 or go online to the GMRC Web site where there is a list of all their recurring dates.
