Volunteer Opportunities Available in Franklin County on Several Boards

If you’re interested in getting more involved in the workings of Franklin County, there a number of openings on various boards that need volunteers.

At their meeting Monday night, County Manager Terry Harris went over the openings for the Board of Commissioners.

The Library Board appointee will serve for a period of three years.

Of the four positions on the Recreation Board, two will serve for eight years and two for four years.

The Avita Board vacancy appointee will serve for one year beginning July 1.

Avita Board is required to include a majority (51%) of individuals with personal or family experience in mental health, developmental disabilities, or addictive diseases.

The Avita Board meets once a month at their Administrative Offices in Flowery Branch, and mileage reimbursement is provided.

Again, the deadline to apply for any one of these volunteer positions is May 19th.
