Mr. Vernon G. Edwards, retired Superintendent of the Hart County School System, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 in Hartwell GA. Funeral services with Naval Honors will be held Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell with Dr. Steve Albanese, Dr. Hugh Kirby and Rev. Carter Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Nancy Hart Memorial Park. The body is at the Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday morning. The family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Hartwell, 81 E. Howell Street, Hartwell GA 30643. The Strickland Funeral Home of Hartwell is in charge of all arrangements.
