Still time to purchase a Banner in Royston to Honor Veteran
Time is running out for people to purchase veteran banners that will be hung in downtown Royston.
On Monday, Royston DDA Director Michael Crump said the deadline to purchase a banner is March 3.
Crump announced the idea to the Royston City Council back in July.
The banners were first flown on Veterans Day last November and this year will be flown on Memorial Day and the 4th of July.
They will also fly again from this year’s Veterans Day through the holidays.
Participation in the veteran banners is for everyone, but you need to send a photo of the veteran along with your donation and form.
Photos must be of the veteran alone, no group shots, and no full-body shots.
Also, you are asked to send the highest-resolution photo you have.
Crump said the photo doesn’t have to be a special size; the designer will resize and crop photos as needed.
You can send photos in as a .jpeg, .png or PDF and include the name of the veteran and the branch of the military they served in.
The banners are going up on lamp posts in downtown Royston, including along Railroad Park.
Again, the deadline to order a veterans banner is March 3.
