The Stephens County Sheriff’s office is investigating a home invasion on Rock Creek Circle.
According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, deputies received a call from a from the homeowner early Tuesday morning.
“We got a call at about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday regarding a home invasion where some individuals forced open the door and had handguns and went into the bedroom where (the victims) were sleeping and got some items, such as money and a cell phone.” – See more at: http://wnegradio.com/scso-investigating-home-invasion/#sthash.DPWqb5CQ.dpuf

Shirley said the victims were not injured and reported that the suspects fled the residence by vehicle. Investigators continue to follow leads and have already recovered some of the stolen items taken, which they found at various locations around the county. Shirley said they also continue to question several persons of interest.

The sheriff says incidents like this serve as a reminder for people to make sure their homes are secure, including investigating steps like installing an alarm system.
