Sen. Wilkinson Earns Perfect Score From Georgia Chamber

State Senator John Wilkinson (R-Toccoa) has received the highest ranking given on the Georgia Chamber’s Legislative Scorecard.

The Chamber’s legislative scorecard recognizes legislators that supported strong business initiatives during the 2013 legislative session.

“I am honored to receive this recognition from the Georgia Chamber,” said Sen. Wilkinson.  “It is essential that the legislature and Georgia Chamber work together to create and maintain business growth both large and small.  I look forward to continuing our relationship so that we can foster economic growth in Georgia for generations to come.”

Wilkinson serves on a number of State Senate committees, including chair of the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs committee. He is also a member of the Appropriations and Government Oversight committees and serves as Vice Chair of the Education and Youth Committee.

Georgia Chamber President and CEO Chris Clark said it is clear from this year’s scorecard is that state lawmakers – both Democrat and Republican – are taking private-sector growth seriously.

“They realize how important these issues are to the state and to their constituents and that we must take action to encourage investment and job creation,” said Clark. “We are proud that there was such broad-based, bipartisan support for each of the scorecard bills. As a result, we will improve Georgia’s overall competitiveness and reputation as a state that is open for business. We commend Sen. Wilkinson for his dedication and commitment to the betterment of our state.”
