Puttin’ on the Christmas at the Ritz

The Ritz Theatre will be hosting a lot of holiday cheer this December, including a new take on the classic Chrismas film “It’s A Wonderful Life,” which will be presented tonight.

That performance will will be followed by the movies White Christmas on Dec. 14 and  The Star on Dec. 20.

Tickets are just $1 for the movies and showings are at 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

As for tonight’s performance, It’s a Wonderful Life: Live from WVL Radio Theatre will start at 7 p.m.

This 1940s “live broadcast” of Frank Capra’s beloved film will take you back to the Golden Age of Radio.

Sponsored by TruVista in Toccoa, the performance is set in the fictional studio of WVL Radio Theatre on a cold, snowy winter night. Due to the blizzard, the professional voice actors are unable to get through, but the show must go on — so a small, intrepid band of employees manage to create the dozens of characters and scenes using just their voices and a sound effects table.

Tickets for the live performance of “It’s a Wonderful Life” are $10 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and students.
