PUPPIES: Emerald & Lida Waiting for Their Forever Homes

Meet Emerald Jade Green Ball &  Lida Beeda Boda Butt!

Yep… those are their real shelter names. 😂 And honestly, with names like those, you KNOW these two have personalities!

These lab mix puppies are available for adoption at the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia.

Emerald is the handsome little gentleman of the pair — although we use the word “gentleman” VERY loosely because he is still a puppy. 😉 Lida is his sister, and she has perfected the art of looking completely innocent right before something questionable happens. 😂 Together, these two are basically a tiny comedy show with four legs!

💔 But behind all that silliness is a pretty heartbreaking story.

Emerald and Lida were surrendered to the shelter through NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN. They didn’t do anything wrong. They weren’t bad dogs. Their family simply found themselves unable to keep them, and these two babies suddenly went from having a home to having a kennel.

And now… they’ve been waiting for ROUGHLY 60 DAYS. 😭 SIXTY. DAYS.

At just 18 weeks old, they should be experiencing their first adventures — not wondering why everyone keeps walking past their kennel. They should be chewing on toys they probably shouldn’t chew, stealing socks, zooming around the living room, and sleeping in positions that make absolutely no sense. 😂

Instead, they’ve spent much of their puppyhood waiting for someone to choose them.

And let us tell you… these two are READY to retire from shelter life! 😂

Emerald is approximately 30 pounds, and Lida is approximately 30 pounds, too. They’re still growing and have plenty of puppy shenanigans left in them!

They came into this chapter together, and now we’re hoping their next chapter is filled with things like:

🛋️ Sleeping on the couch
🧸 Destroying every toy in sight
🧦 Stealing laundry
🌳 Running around the backyard
🍗 Begging for snacks they absolutely do NOT need
💤 Taking ridiculously long puppy naps
❤️ And, most importantly, being LOVED FOREVER!

Emerald and Lida didn’t ask to start over. They didn’t ask to spend 60 days in a shelter. But they ARE asking — in their own adorable puppy way — for someone to give them a chance. 🥹

And honestly… after 60 days, we think they’ve earned a FREEDOM DAY! 🎉🐶

Their dream isn’t complicated.

They want a family.
They want a couch.
They want toys.
They want snacks.
They want someone to tell them they’re good babies approximately 47 times a day. 😂

Most of all, they want somewhere they can finally say:

“THIS is home.” 🏡💚
