North Georgia Tech Announces Winner of First Photography Competition

A Madison County student at North Georgia Technical College is the winner of the College’s 2020 Photography Contest.

This year’s theme was “The Future, Now.”

Anna Brown of Danielsville won with her shot of a waterfall.

Brown will receive a Digital SLR camera with two lenses, a camera bag, a $500 scholarship to the photography program at North Georgia Tech, and a professional print of her winning photograph.

Savannah Harris of Baxley, GA came in second.

Harris will receive a compact camera, a $300 scholarship to the photography program at NGTC, and a print of her winning photograph.

And Nikolas Thomason of Alto placed third.

Thomason will receive a compact camera, a $200 scholarship to the photography program at NGTC, and a print of his winning photograph.

Winners were announced Monday via YouTube.

Hailey Turner of Toccoa and Loc Nguyen of Martin were two of 20 honorable mentions.

NGTC Vice President of College and Community Relations Amy Hulsey tells WLHR News there were more than 80 entries to this year’s photography competition.

This was the first year for the photography scholarship competition and Hulsey said it’s a wonderful way to recognize and showcase some of the great talents in our region.
