Ninth District Opportunity Offering Rental Assistance for Tenants and Landlords

Ninth District Opportunity is now offering rental assistance for tenants and help for landlords who have not received a rental payment in months due to the pandemic.

The moratorium on evictions runs through the end of March, but help is available for landlords.

In an announcement, Monday, Brenda Dalin, Ninth District Services Director said COVID has affected both tenants and landlords.

“COVID has impacted all of us,” she said. “The impact has certainly been felt financially by our low-income families. Likewise, many of our landlords who house many of our local neighbors, have gone months without rental payments.”

Ninth District Opportunity is partnering with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to offer the lifeline that so many need.

It’s called the Georgia Rental Assistance Program and will provide assistance for both the landlord and tenant equally.

For tenants behind on their rent, they must meet certain income and eligibility requirements.

For landlords who need help, Dalin said documentation is also required.
