Motorcycle Driver Name Released

The name of the man who died in a single motorcycle accident Sunday has been released.  According to Franklin County Coroner Scott O’Barr, the motorcycle driver is identified as 66-year-old Alan Carey of Maysville.  The wreck occurred Sunday night around 7pm.  According to Georgia State Patrol Corporal William Jordan, the accident was possibly the result of overcorrecting.

“Motorcycle was traveling west on Jackson Bridge Road.  It left the left shoulder of the roadway

It then traveled back across Jackson Bridge Road.  It hit the river bridge rail, the railing on the river bridge.   The motorcycle driver was thrown from the vehicle and came to rest on the roadway of the bridge.  And the motorcycle came to rest just below where he was located.”

Carey was pronounced dead on the scene.  Jordan says it does not appear speed was involved nor drugs or alcohol.
