Mac: Lab/Hound Mix at NEGAS Looking for Loving Home

Mac is a five-year-old Lab/Hound mix that has been at the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter since last October when she was brought in as a stray.

Shelter Director Tammi Jourdenais says Mac is a sweet, affectionate girl who gets along great with adults and kids, other dogs, and yes, even cats.

“She a shelter staff favorite and we don’t understand why Mac keeps getting overlooked by potential adopters,” Jourdenais said. “She has a wonderful, easy-going personality and would make anyone a loving companion.”

Jourdenais said don’t let Mac’s age deter you.  She is still very playful and healthy, housebroken, and walks well on a leash.

“A puppy isn’t for everyone,” she said. “They can be a lot of work to train but an adult dog like Mac is past the puppy rambunctious stage, which makes her a great candidate for someone who doesn’t have time to train a puppy.”

Mac’s adoption fee is $55 and includes her spay.

The Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter is located on Bear Creek Road in Lavonia and is open Tues, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 11a to 4p.
