Lavonia woman arrested for South Carolina thefts committed in 2013

A Lavonia woman has been arrested in Walhalla, South Carolina and charged with multiple thefts after being served four warrants by Oconee County Sheriff’s deputies.

According to the warrants, Candance Nicole Tukes of a Caudell Drive address in Lavonia was arrested on Aug. 11 and charged with four counts of petty larceny (fraudulently receiving goods less than $2,000).

The warrants state Tukes used a debit card belonging to someone else and purchased an item valued at $1.58; took a wallet and contents belonging to a second person valued at approximately $100; used a debit card belonging to a second person to obtain $9 in cash; and took a wallet and contents belonging to the second person valued at approximately $20.

The incidents all occurred on Nov. 16, 2013.
