Lavonia CC to Hold Work Session Tonight
Lavonia City Council will meet tonight for a work session to go over a number of items.
Among those is the institution of a blighted property ordinance.
Last fall, the City held a clean up day where those inside the city limits could take their unwanted debris to the Maintenance yard where two roll-off dumpsters were available for them to discard their trash and debris at no charge.
At the time, Mayor Courtney Umbehant the clean-up day was held in anticipation of the City’s plan to beef up its ordinances regarding blighted properties and its plan to hire a code enforcement officer this year.
Also on tonight’s work session agenda the council and mayor are expected to discuss installing security cameras at city-owned properties, developing a tax-delinquent property list, and the purchase of a new sewer camera.
