Last Week to Vote Early in Georgia

vote7Just five days left now if you plan to vote early before next week’s mid-term General Election.

Voting has been brisk for the past two weeks not only in Northeast Georgia, but also across the State.

Secretary of State John Kemp reports that as of Friday evening, 335,127 ballots had been cast statewide.  Of that, 279,334 Georgians have chosen to advance vote in person.

55,793 mail-in ballots statewide have been returned and another 53,203 mail-in ballots are still outstanding.

Voters in Northeast Georgia are deciding on local, state and federal races this election term, and the ballots are lengthy.

That’s why Franklin County Elections Superintendent Gina Chappalear advises voters study their sample ballots ahead of time.

In Franklin County, voters cast early ballots at the Elections and Registrations office in Carnesville from 8:30a – 4:30p.

In Hart County, voters must go to the Board of Registrar’s office on Cade St. in Hartwell from 8a – 5p.

Early voting ends Friday.  There will be no early voting on Monday, November 3.

Again, to view a sample ballot you can go to your local Registrar or Board of Elections office or go online to the Secretary of State Web site at www.sos.ga.gov and click on MVP which stands for My Voter Page.
