July 4th Activities in Hartwell This Weekend

If you’re not on the water this weekend, you might want to start your Fourth of July celebration a little early in Hartwell.

Beginning tonight and continuing tomorrow, downtown Hartwell will be alive with activities all in celebration of our nation’s independence.

Tonight kicks off the weekend with Dancin’ on Depot St.   Sponsored by the Hartwell Main St and a host of local businesses, the annual street dance features live music and lots of fun.   Tickets at the gate will be $5 each.

Music begins at 6pm and runs until 11p and features the group, Still Cruzin’,  playing Motown, R&B, Funk, Disco, Top 40, Beach, Big Band, and Golden Oldies.  Remember to bring your children, lawn chairs and dancing shoes!   Contact the Hartwell Downtown Development Authority for more information at (706) 376-0188.

Then on Saturday, is the Pre-4thExtravaganza presented by the Hartwell Service League.

Service League Member Michelle Dipert said you can start the day strolling down main street in downtown Hartwell enjoying shopping with local artists and vendors, along with entertainment for the kids.

Then Saturday afternoon is the big band concert at Big Oaks Recreation area just before the fireworks.

The band concert starts at 8p.m. and as we do every year, 921 WLHR will be broadcasting live from the concert and fireworks tomorrow night.
