Hart County Humane Society Plans Concert, Auction

The Hart County Humane Society is sponsoring a fall concert later this month with the rock group Mainsrtreet who will be performing songs written by Bob Segar.

Called the Mainstreet Bob Segar Experience, the concert takes place Saturday, October 25th 7:30p at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church Founder’s Hall on Benson St., in Hartwell.

Marilyn Bowman is a volunteer member of the Humane Society’s fundraising arm.

Bowman said all of the proceeds go to benefit the animals rescued by the Hart County Humane Society.

Bowman said most of that money will go towards helping the animals who are taken into the Humane Society’s care.  She said a lot goes in to getting a dog or cat ready for its new home, including spaying/neutering, testing, vaccinations and microchips, and it’s expensive.

Other expenses include buying food and pet supplies for foster dogs and cats as well as maintaining their pet sanctuary on Reed Creek Highway.

Bowman said in addition to the concert and silent auction there will also be BBQ plates by Sachmo beginning at 5:30p.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

They can be purchased at All Hart Realty on W. Franklin St. and at Hang It Up Gallery on N. Forest Avenue in Hartwell.
