Georgia Parks, Golf Courses Still Open

In accordance with Governor Kemp’s executive order, Georgia State Parks remain open.

In a press release Friday, the Georgia Dept of Natural Resources announced all but one of the State’s seven golf courses are open, including the one at Victoria Bryant State Park in Royston.

However, the DNR encourages golfers to visit their local courses and use social distancing when playing.

Park staff is taking all possible actions to make the course a safe space to play, including modified bunker rules, limiting tap-in requirements so golfers are not required to reach their hands in the cup, and cleaning off the carts after each use.

You may reserve and pay for a tee time by calling the clubhouse directly, or by booking online through their website.

Additionally, Georgia DNR-managed State Parks cabins, campgrounds, and trails are still open to the public.

Coral Hospitality, which manages the five lodge parks and 3 golf courses for Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites has modified their operations.

Dining facilities at all lodges are closed.

Late Friday, DNR Law enforcement officer Craig Fulghum told WLHR News South Carolina has now opened its boat ramps on their side of Lake Hartwell.

Previously, South Carolina governor had ordered boat ramps in the state closed, but he has rescinded that order.

Fulghum said that means boaters on both sides of the lake must abide by that state’s boating rules as they’ve always done.
