Georgia DOT Road Work Planned This Week

This week, the Georgia Department of Transportation has a number of projects for our area, including Franklin, Elbert, and Hart counties, as well as along I-85.

On I-85 in Banks County, DOT workers will continue to replace  concrete sections of I-85 south only at SR 63, which will require closing the right or outside lane weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In Franklin County, a crew will be repairing the shoulders of SR59 from SR77 in Hart County to Lavonia.

DOT  crews will also be working to repair the shoulders of SR172 in Hart County.

In Madison County, a crew will repair asphalt on SR 172 using sealant.

That work will require a lane closure or flagman to direct traffic through the work zone.

And in Elbert County, DOT workers will repair cracks in the asphalt on SR 368, which will require one lane to be closed.

Also, another crew will be repairing the shoulders of SR 17 and SR 172 and a third crew will be managing the vegetation on SR 77 and SR 520.

Most activities will only require shoulder or median lane closures.  All work should be finished by Friday afternoon and motorists are advised to use caution in the DOT work zones.
