Funeral Set for Today For Hart County High School Teen

A large crowd is expected to attend the funeral this afternoon of a rising Hart County High School Senior.

Services will be held at 2p this afternoon from the Lonnie Burns Fine Art Center at Hart County High School in Hartwell for 17-year old Shevez Allen.   Allen was killed in a one-vehicle wreck on U.S. 29 early last Thursday morning while driving to Hartwell.

“He was traveling north on Highway 29 toward Hartwell when his vehicle drifted onto the north shoulder of the roadway,” Whitworth said. “He over-corrected, which caused him to travel back across the northbound lane. His vehicle left the roadway and the passenger side struck a tree.”

Allen was taken to AnMed Medical Center in Anderson where he later died from his injuries.   After the funeral today, Allens’ body will be taken to Miami, Florida for burial.
