Franklin County Sheriff’s Tip Leads to Four Drug Trafficking Arrests in Commerce

Information from the Franklin County Sheriff’s office was instrumental in the arrest of four people in Commerce on drug charges.

On Wednesday, January 13th, 2021, Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office Agents, along with Banks County Sheriff’s Office Deputies executed a search warrant at the Howard Johnson Hotel Room 237 in Commerce.

“Information developed by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office led to the search warrant that was executed at the Howard Johnson Hotel,” said Special Agent in Charge Trent Hillsman. “During the execution of the search warrant, agents and deputies seized 483.5 prescription pills, 3 kilos of methamphetamine, 4 ounces of heroin, 9 ounces of marijuana, and $12,700 of US Currency.”

Hillsman said the illegal drugs seized during the investigation had a street value of $50,000.

Arrested in the bust was 38-year old Gary Henson, of Toccoa.

Henson is charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, along with Felony Obstruction of a Police Officer.

39-year old William Turney, of Homer, was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

29-year old Kristina Hubbard, of Bethlehem, was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

And 34-year old Ashley Loudermilk, of Hull, was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute.

Hillsman said the investigation is currently active and ongoing.
