FCP Fall Car, Truck and Tractor show set for Saturday

The Franklin Community Players will sponsor a Fall FCP Classic Car & Truck Show. The car and truck show is scheduled for Saturday Sept. 15 at the Lavonia Cultural Center.

Franklin Community Players member Amy Burns talks about the what prompted a second car show.

This is Amy Burns and I am super-excited to talk about our upcoming car and truck show. We had one a couple of months ago and were amazed at the turnout and how much fun we had and couldn’t wait to get another one planned so we started working hard to get this one going,” said Burns.

Hot dog meal plates will also be available for $5. The meals include chips and drink. Desserts and snack items will be available as well.

Burns then gave a few details about the big event.

Registration will start a 4 p.m. The show will actually start at 5 p.m. It will go until 7 p.m. and we will present trophies at 7:30 p.m. We have 20 categories this year that we will present trophies for. We’re also going to include tractors this time, so that will be something new. The price is $15 to register and the first 20 that pre-register and pays get a dashboard plaque,” said Burns.

Some of the classes for the Classic Car & Truck Show will include Best in Show, People’s Choice, Kids Choice, Best Orphan, Best Rat Rod, Best Air Cooled, Most Miles Original Motor, Least Miles Original Motor, Best Classic Pre-1989, Best Modern 1990 and Newer, Best Pontiac, Best Oldsmobile, Best Chevy, Best Ford, Best Mopar, Best Truck, Best Original Tractor and Best Restored Tractor.

The Lavonia Cultural Center is located at 12005 Augusta Road.
