Fr. Co. Celebrates E911 Dispatcher Appreciation Week

This week is Franklin County E911 Dispatcher Appreciation Week.

“Dispatchers provide an indispensable service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year,” said Franklin County e911 Director Ryan Parks.

Next week is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week but Franklin County has chosen to recognize its dispatchers and emergency personnel a week early.

According to their website, the goal and mission of the Franklin County 911 Center are to serve as the communications between the citizen and public safety agencies.

Their top priority is for fast and accurate activation for public safety services.

They do this by identification of the citizen’s location and public safety response needs. Parks noted the role of the dispatcher is more than just taking calls.

During this week, Parks said they will be highlighting the Franklin County dispatcher staff, their roles, and their commitment to helping Franklin County.

Parks is asking for the public to say thank you to the e911 Staff this week for their dedication and commitment to the safety of the County’s citizens.

While there is no public access to the Franklin County e911 building Parks said anyone who would like to bring by a thank you treat or card can call him to make arrangements at 706-680-0408 or 706-384-2483.
