Final Saturday of Early Voting This Weekend

Just a reminder that if you haven’t had a chance to cast an early ballot for the May Primary you will be able to do so on Saturday at your local Board of Elections or Registrar’s office.  Franklin County’s hours for Saturday early voting will be from 9:00am-4:00pm.  Hart County’s hours will be from 9:00am-5:00pm.

Early voting ends Friday, May 20, and this is the last Saturday of early voting day before the May 24 Primary Election.

In the local races, voters in both Franklin and Hart counties are deciding on the Board of Commissioner and Board of Education races.

Voters are also choosing candidates for a host of state and federal races, including Governor, Lt. Governor, U.S. Senate, Georgia Secretary of State, and U.S. House of Representatives District 9.

In Franklin County, voters go to the Franklin County Elections and Registrations Office in Carnesville on Highway 145 from 9:00am-5:00pm during the week to early vote.

As of Thursday at 3:00pm, Elections Supervisor Gina Bannister says 574 citizens have cast early ballots in person along with 29 absentee ballots coming in so far.

In Hart County, voters go to the Elections and Registrations office on Cade Street in Hartwell.  Voters can cast an early ballot from 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday – Friday.  Elections Coordinator Robin Webb says as of 3:00pm on Thursday, 887 voters have cast early ballots in person, plus an additional 50 have voted by absentee so far.

Today is also the final day to turn in your application for an absentee ballot in your respective county.  If you do not turn in your application today, you will have to either vote early at your respective elections office or wait until May 24 to vote at your precinct polling place.
