CASA Informational Session and Training
At any given time there are 75+ children in foster care in Northeast Georgia who need an advocate to speak up for their needs and best interests. Currently there are 12 children in Elbert, Franklin and Hart counties who are waiting for someone to speak up on their behalf. The Northeast Georgia Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program trains and supports volunteer CASAs to be voices for these children. The CASA volunteer helps ensure that children who have been abused or neglected have all their physical, emotional and educational needs met and that they are returned to a safe, permanent home as soon as possible. Our next new CASA training class will begin the week of August 27th and we will have an information session on Thursday, August 16th for anyone interested in learning more about CASA.
