Events Happening in Franklin and Surrounding Counties
It’s another weekend of events around Franklin and surrounding counties.
In Franklin County, the annual Canon Fall Festival is taking place Saturday from 9a to 3p. Arts and craft vendors will line Depot Street, and there will also be a cake walk, bingo, bouncy houses for the kiddos, and more.

And whether you’re registering your vintage vehicle or just a lover of old cars, you will want to head over to Victoria Bryant State Park on Saturday for their 3rd annual Fall Car Show.
The car show takes place from 10 a.m. to 1p. In addition to vintage cars, there will be concessions, raffles, and prizes awarded to the best vintage rides.
Winners will be announced at 12:30p.
Admission to the show is free, but there is a $5 parking fee.

The Franklin County High School drama department will hold its annual Haunted
Sanatorium Saturday night from 7p to 11p at the Telford Center for the Fine and Performing Arts at FCHS. Tickets are $10.
Cash, checks, and cards will be accepted. Security will be present, and visitors will need to go through a metal detector. No masks, backpacks, or large bags are allowed.
There will also be a kids’ table for the little ones with coloring books and crayons to keep them occupied while adults go through the haunted sanatorium.

Finally, military and WWII history buffs will want to head over to Toccoa this weekend for their annual Currahee Military Weekend.
The event kicks off tonight with a USO Event and Dance at Camp Toccoa at Currahee beginning at 6:30p.
On Saturday, the day starts with the Currahee Challenge 5K & 10K Run
7 AM at the Pavilion at Camp Toccoa Currahee Mountain
There will also be the Veterans Parade in downtown Toccoa at 1p, a WWII Book Signing from 1-5 PM at the Toccoa Train Depot, the unveiling of two new exhibits at the Currahee Military Museum, and the Currahee Banquet & Fellowship dinner at 6 PM Pavilion at Camp Toccoa Currahee Mountain.
