Easley, SC Man Drowns in Lake Keowee

An Easley, SC man who fell from his boat Sunday on Lake Keowee drowned.

Oconee County coroner Karl Addis said late Monday morning that an autopsy found  no traumatic injuries on the body of 35-year old Charles David Keeney and no preexisting medical conditions were found to have caused him to have a seizure as reported by the witness.

Family members told authorities Keeney suffered some sort of seizure and fell from the boat.

Keeney reportedly could swim, but after falling into the lake, he apparently made no effort to swim.  Keeney fell from the boat at Fall Creek Falls on Lake Keowee near Salem while boating with family members.

The autopsy confirmed Mr. Keeney died as a result of drowning and Addis ruled the death accidental.
