Drug Arrests in Several Northeast Georgia Counties

Law enforcement in neighboring counties are rounding up suspected drug dealers.

In White County, hundreds of law enforcement officials shut down a large drug trafficking network that reached across north Georgia.  Some 10 pounds of marijuana and over $4,000 in cash were seized.

White County Sheriff Neal Walden told Access North Georgia on Wednesday that 47 suspects were in custody, with eight warrants still to be served.

In Banks County, law enforcement descended on Banks Crossing in the search for a major drug trafficker.  During the operation, officers recovered about a kilo of meth, which equals just over two pounds.

They also made one arrest.  Another suspect fled and is still at large.

And in Jackson County, three people are charged with growing pot in a field near Nicholson.

Jackson County Sheriff’s investigators found 70 marijuana plants in a field on Farmer Road while conducting another investigation with the Georgia State Patrol.

The plants had a total street value of $84,000.

Arrested at a home where the field was located was  59-year-old Don O’Neil Farmer who was charged with possession of marijuana and manufacturing marijuana.

Two women at the residence also were arrested.

57-year old  Sadie Diane McCoy is  was charged with tampering with evidence when she tried to flush marijuana plants down a toilet.

And 27-year old Valerie Diane Smith of a Florida address was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Walton County, Georgia.

Authorities say more pot plus firearms were discovered inside Farmer’s house.
