Dill’s Food City Gains Nat’l Attention for Bulldogs Support

Local grocery chain Dill’s Food City is making national news for their decision to make a statement about this weekend’s Georgia Bulldogs/ Notre Dame game.

On their Facebook page Dill’s posted photos of an employee removing the entire stock of Irish Spring bar soap from their store shelves.

The caption at the top reads, “Sorry Dill’s customers there will be no Irish Spring at our stores this week. Go Dawgs! “

The No. 3-ranked Georgia Bulldogs will host the No. 7-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish in Athens on Saturday beginning at 8p for a primetime showdown.

Dill’s Food City, has locations in Lavonia and Royston.

The photos quickly went viral with over 355 shares and thousands of views on Twitter.
