In Banks County, Commerce Police continue to investigate the suicide of a man caught driving a stolen pick up.

It happened Sunday night.

Commerce Police Chief John Gaissert told the Georgia News Network Monday that 64-year old Glenn Ogden of 211 Wood St. in Commerce was pulled over by his officers who spotted the stolen truck.

Gaissert said as soon as the officer walked up to the truck, Ogden pulled out a gun and shot himself.

Officers then spotted a h and grenade in the rear floor board of the pick up.

Gaissert said they evacuated a 300 foot radius around the truck and the University of Georgia Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team was called in and secured the device.

Gaissert said Ogden was a convicted felon and sex offender, but the investigation as to why he committed suicide continues.
