Collins Honored with Enterprise Spirit Award by U.S. Chamber of Commerce

U.S. Representative Doug Collins was among 210 members of the U.S. House of Representatives and 49 members of the U.S. Senate who were honored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce with its annual Spirit of Enterprise Award.

The award was given in recognition of their support for pro-growth policies in the first session of the 116th Congress.

“In these uncertain times with daunting economic and social challenges facing our nation, it is imperative that leaders in Washington are focused on propelling American businesses forward to create jobs and economic growth from California to Maine,” said Thomas J. Donohue, CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. “As we rebuild our economy, legislators must lead by pursuing bipartisan solutions that create jobs and promote a free enterprise system. I’m proud to recognize these 259 Members of Congress for their commitment to driving opportunity and prosperity in America’s workforce and on Main Streets across the nation.”

In accepting the award, Collins said the American worker deserves support.

“Hardworking Americans and job creators are the backbone of America and deserve our support,” said Collins. “As our country has witnessed the devastating impact of COVID-19 on our economy, our small businesses have demonstrated their resiliency like never before. I am honored to receive this award and I look forward to continuing to find ways to support our nation’s businesses.”

The 2020 annual Spirit of Enterprise Award recognizes lawmakers for their support of pro-business issues during the first session of the 116th Congress.

For the first time in over 40 years, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce updated how they score lawmakers to include their leadership and efforts in bipartisanship in addition to supporting pro-business legislation.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing companies of all sizes across every sector of the economy.
