Christmas Season Kicks Off This Weekend With Several Events
A reminder of some weekend events in our area to kick off the Christmas season.
November 30 is Small Business Saturday, a day that highlights locally owned businesses and retailers.
In Royston, DDA Director Michael Crump said they will have a Holiday Market at the Train Depot featuring local arts and crafts.
And in Lavonia, Jingle Mingle is still going on Saturday where shoppers can register to win a $600-value gift basket just by shopping at local retailers.
Then on Sunday, the City of Lavonia will hold its annual Christmas parade at 3p.
Main St. Director Ashley Rose Dodd said this year’s theme is Coca Cola and Dodd said they are asking parade participants to decorate their floats and vehicles with a Coca Cola theme.
Those participating in the parade need to start lining up at 1:30p.
And Sunday evening you will want to head down to the City of Canon for their annual Christmas tree lighting at Canon City Park beginning at 6p.
Kids can meet Santa and have their pictures taken with him as well as drop off their Christmas letters.
There will also be refreshments and caroling for everyone.
