Carnesville Lions Club to Hold Anniversary Meet & Greet

January 5, 2023, marks the 70th anniversary of the Carnesville Lions Club.  To commemorate this milestone, the public is invited to attend special celebration.  The drop-in-style event will be held on Sunday, February 5th from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00p.m. at the Carnesville Community Center.  There, visitors will enjoy light refreshments and be able to view club artifacts and discuss the club history with current members.

Club President Sid Ginn says there is no charge to attend.  However, the Carnesville Lions Club will accept donations to help fund some of their major projects including Boy Scouts Troop 42 and Cub Scouts Pack 42, the Lions Lighthouse, The Camp for the Blind in Waycross, Georgia, and Leader Dogs for the blind.

Ginn says the Carnesville Lions Club was originally chartered in 1939, but became inactive during World War II.  Then in 1953, the club restarted with help from the Lavonia Lions Club.

If you are looking for a civic organization to join, the Carnesville Lions Club is always looking new members.  Meetings are held on the first and third Monday night of the month at the Carnesville Community Center at 6:00.  For more information, you can reach out to Ginn at 706-498-2571.
