Baseball Sign-Ups Continue

Sign-Ups are underway for baseball.  In Hart County, the final in-person sign-ups for little league is Saturday, January 28, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Sign-ups will be at the scoring tower at the recreation department ballfields on Elberton Highway.

Divisions include Tee Ball, which is for ages four to six, Rookie/Coach Pitch for ages six to eight, Minors for ages seven to ten, Majors, which is for ages nine to twelve, and Junior/Senior League, which is for kids ages 13 to 16.  Practices begin on February 20th with opening season on March 18th.  Games will be played at the Hart County Recreation Ball Fields on Elberton Highway.

Now if you are unable to attend the sign-ups on Saturday, you can register your child online now through January 31 at www.hartcoll.org.  That’s www.hartcoll.org.  The registration fee is $95.

Also, beginning on February 4, sign-ups for Challenger League Baseball.  Challenger League Baseball is open to kids and adults with special needs.  There is no cost to sign up your child or special needs adult.  All sporting equipment will be provided.  Your child or adult does not have to live in Franklin County to be eligible.  Just a desire to play and have fun.

Sharlene Thomas is the manager of the Challenger League.  She says many of the participants return year after year.

Thomas says, “We love these kids, they’re like family, cause a lot of them keep coming back every year. No rules, no regulations, no restrictions, just fun.”

Again, Challenger League sign-ups begin on February 4.  There will be two minor league teams for the players ten and under and two major league teams for players 11 and up.  The teams will play approximately 10 games beginning on March 4.  Each game is 2 innings.  For more information, contact Sharlene Thomas by e-mail at [email protected].  That’s [email protected] .
