Additional Information Revealed About Teen Accused of Carrying Gun on Campus

WLHR News has more information on the person indicted last week for bringing a gun on campus at Franklin County High School.

According to a press release issued Monday, Franklin County Sheriff Steve Thomas said on September 15 the school administration notified the School Resource Officer that there was a vehicle on campus with a firearm  inside it.

The owner of the vehicle, identified in the indictment as 17-year old Chase Alexander Nunn, was called to the vehicle.

According to the Sheriff, Nunn said he and family members had been hunting the day before and stated he forgot the pistol was in the vehicle.

The indictment states the pistol was a Glock 17 9mm handgun.

District Attorney Parks White was informed of the incident and Nunn was arrested.

He was later released on bond.

Nunn was indicted last week by the Franklin County Grand Jury on one count of carrying a weapon on school grounds and possession of a handgun by a person under the age of 18.

Thomas said he does not believe there was any threat to the students or the school system.
