Toccoa Murder, Kidnapping Suspect Arrested

Kenton Hall was captured Tuesday afternoon after a shootout with law enforcement

A Toccoa man is facing murder and other charges after he allegedly stabbed two people and killed his wife.

Late Tuesday afternoon, Toccoa Police Chief Jimmy Mize said 48-year-old Kenton Hall was apprehended shortly after 3 p.m. after evading several law enforcement agencies throughout the day.

Mize said Hall was found hiding out in an abandoned warehouse after his office received a tip.

According to Chief Mize, Hall was shot by an officer after he advanced towards thim with a knife. Hall was airlifted to a trauma center. The officer has put on administrative leave.

Hall was wanted in connection to the stabbing of two Toccoa residents and the kidnapping and murder of his wife, identified as 49-year old Patricia Hall.

Her body was discovered in a heavily wooded area off of East Franklin Street Tuesday. The cause of death is still under investigation pending an autopsy at the GBI Crime Lab.

Mize said officers were dispatched to a residence on Mill Street, Monday night in reference to a medical call of a person bleeding.

When they arrived, officers found the first two victims with multiple stab wounds.

They are identified as 64-year-old Robert Maxwell, and 66-year-old Nancy Johnson. The pair were transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. Mize said Maxwell is listed in critical condition.

During the investigation it was determined there was a third victim, identified as Hall’s wife, who was possibly injured and kidnapped.

Mize said after officers secured the scene, the Criminal Investigation Division unit responded to the scene and hospital. The GBI was then called in to assist in the investigation and crime scene processing.

Tracking dogs from Lee Arrendale Prison were called to assist in the search for Mr.Hall, and the Georgia State Patrol Aviation FLAIR unit also assited by doing a grid search.

Mize says officers from the Police Department and Deputies from the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office searched the area and multiple other locations.

The Sheriff’s Office CID Unit assisted with intel and helped search multiple addresses which were the last known addresses of the suspect.

Warrants were taken for Kendrick Hall by the GBI for murder, two counts of aggravated assault and kidnapping.
