Franklin Co HS Student One of Three Regional Winners in SkillsUSA Competion

A Franklin County High School student is one of the SkillsUSA region winners awarded numerous welding supplies from the North Georgia Tech’s welding program.

The first, second and third place winners received a total of more than $6200 in welding supplies donated by Patterson Pump, The United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Safety Plus Inc., Lincoln Electric, Miller Electric, IMI, Airgas, Will Schakat, and Corey Brawner.

Those winners included Owen Pruitt from Franklin County High School who was the third place winner.

His high school advisor is Wayne Ertzberger.

First place winner was Blake Turner from White County High School and Second Place winner was John Wilbanks from North Hall High School.

All three winners also each received gloves and safety glasses and the winning student advisor received a Miller Elite welding helmet.
